With Sympathy!

Kim here today, sharing with you how I made this card. Now I know Sympathy cards can be difficult to make, but I feel this one is quite elegant.

I am using the Daffodil die set that comes with this sentiment. I am also using the Stitched Rectangle Slim line

I started by die cutting all my pieces. On my original card, I colored the stems, but I decided to cut them from green paper this time. I cut two stems in green, the middle pieces to the flower, both twice in green, and the sentiment in green. The flower heads I cut in white, two pieces each. For the rectangles, I used the three largest. The biggest is the same color as my card base, the next one is green, and then the next one is the same color as the card base.

I then added a bit of color to the flower heads using my copics. I used Y15 and Y11 to add just a hint of yellow.

After some coloring and blending, I added the center pieces one on top of the other with a bit of glue. On top of those, I added the next piece using a bit of foam tape to give it a more 3D look. Lastly, I glued the third piece on top

For the stems, I took the long stem and slid it between layers, added a bit of glue, then applied the top piece to the flower stem.

Now to assemble the card! This is the easy, fun part. I got my card base and glued the first layer of the stitched slimline rectangle to it. The next layer (the green one), I applied foam tape to pop it up a bit, and the same with the third and final layer.

Time to add the flowers and sentiment. I struggled really with which way to assemble. As you can see, they fit either way, but for some reason my eye wanted the horizontal version.

With that being said, I glued it all down and added just a touch of sequence to fill in some of the blank space.

So there you have it, easy peasy! What do you think?
