Trick or Treat Candy Corn!

Hi Friends Patty here!

For today’s card project, I am using an absolutely darling set from Pixi Dust Designs called Halloween Candy Corn. It makes the sweetest candy corn monsters you have ever seen!

Halloween Candy Corn Monsters

To get started, I cut out the tree from Hot Fudge Cardstock and the haunted house from Kraft Cardstock. All cardstocks are from CutCardStock. I ink-blended Memento Tuxedo Black ink over the tree and Catherine Pooler’s S’Mores ink over the haunted house.

To create the candy corn figures, I cut out Frankenstein using Hydrangeas Purple, Grape Jelly, and Plum. Frankie's eyes and hair are from scraps of black cardstock. For Dracula, I used Cougar White and pressed the different layers into the ink pads. I used Pebble and Hoodie inks from Catherine Pooler on Dracula. I used scrap black and red for his cape and bow-tie.

Creating the Background

To create the background, I cut a circle out of masking paper. I messily ink-blended Chiffon, Tiki Torch, Be Mine, Glam, and Black Jack inks to create the background.

Completed Background

The Blackjack really helps to add a dark, creepy mist or fog-like look to your background. I lightly went over the masked area with Chiffon so it wasn’t so stark white.

I glued the tree and the haunted house to the background. I added my candy corn characters to the card panel. I adhered some Hero Arts star sequins to the night sky. My sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh’s Halloween Sentiment stamp set. I heat embossed my sentiment using Wow! Opaque White embossing powder. I added my sentiment, and my card is complete!
