Paw Some Friend!

 Welcome! This is April Leithner with the Design Team bringing you a fun card using the previously released Valentine Puppies Stamp Set. I love when holiday sets are versatile and can be used for more than that one occasion. There are several sentiments in this set that make this so easy to use for a friendship card.

My background uses emboss resist. I love this technique. I heat embossed with white embossing powder, on some mixed media heavystock cardstock, a sentiment from the Valentine Puppies Stamp Set. I did this randomly all over the panel. I then used spray stains and oxide sprays over the panel. I added a couple layers of the sprays, drying between each layer, then I spattered with water until I was happy with it. I set this aside to dry completely.

Next, I stamped one of the adorable images from the Valentine Puppies Stamp Set with alcohol friendly black ink. I colored the image with alcohol markers. I used a stitched circle die from my stash to cut around the image.

I used an action wobbler to adhere the circled image to the upper portion of the background panel. The action wobbler adds a little fun to the card as it moves the circle when you take it out of an envelope or flick it to really get it moving. It also adds great dimension to the focal point of the card.

Then, I heat embossed with black ink and clear embossing powder a sentiment from the Valentine Puppies Stamp Set. I layered this to a piece of black cardstock and adhered it to the bottom portion of the card. I made this layered piece go completely across the card panel. 

I added a sprinkling of hearts from my statch to the panel including on the circle around the puppy to finish the card. This panel was then mounted on a top folding heavy weight card base.
