Mushroom House Card

Welcome! This is April Leithner with the Design Team bringing you a super fun shape card. I love shape cards as they are so unique. When I saw the NEW Mushroom House Die Set, I knew I had to make a shape card.

I began by creating my card base. Using the large mushroom outline die in the set and an already folded card base, I die cut the image. To make it a card that opens with a front and back, leave a small (maybe 1/8”) space between the fold of the card base and the top of the die. This will leave enough of the fold in the card base for the card to open like any other card. I also die cut two additional of the ground die to be able to finish my shape card. These were added later in the process.

Next, I used Oxide Inks to ink smoosh color onto Mixed Media Cardstock. I choose a variety of colors for different parts of the house and all the wonderful accents in the Mushroom House Die Set. Once these were all dry, I die cut all the images for my card.

Then, I adhered all the pieces together arranging them carefully. Once my Mushroom House was completely assembled, I adhered it to the front of my shape card base. I added the two extra ground pieces, I die cut earlier, behind the front of the card to hide the mixed media paper and then to the back of card base so that it fit evenly with the front. When dry, the shape card stands up perfectly for display.

I am loving this cute Mushroom House Die Set and plan to use it in several ways.Thank you so much for stopping by to see us today. I hope this card inspires you to try a shape card. Whoever receives it will love it! Have a great day and happy crafting!!
