Kim's Carrot Box!

Hey, it's Kim here, and today I am using the new release die, the Carrot Box. This box is so much fun. I have done it in multiple colors but I will show you how I made this one. 

So, basically, I cut using the largest die, which is the box, twice out of heavy-duty kraft
cardstock. Then I cut the side panels 4 times in red solid cardstock and then the textured side panels 4 times in a print paper that complements. I also cut the leaves 2 or 3 times according to your design.  I cut one outer ring in red cardstock. The bunny pieces were cut in red and white as shown.

After you cut out your dies, you can go ahead and burnish all the score lines. Do this well so you have nice crisp corners. I then proceeded to glue the printed textured sides to the solid red cardstock. After they were glued to each other, I proceeded to glue them to the carrot box sides. I then cut out the hole with the smaller die circle in one side of one box. This will be where the bunny is looking in. 

Now you can go ahead and leave that circle open or do as I did and cover with acetate. I only covered it with acetate so that I could fill the box with candy. So just cut a small piece of acetate and using double-sided tape adhere it to the inside of the panel. 

Almost done, how easy is this? Next you want to either add glue or double sided tape to attach the two sides of the box panels, careful not to have the tab show in the window. If it does you can cut a little bit off. This only happens if you cut your hole out too far down. But not a big deal. Then attach the outer circle around the hole to finish it off. 

Glue the pieces of the bunny together and place him at the bottom of the hole. You can fill with candy at this time or leave empty but I then used a little twine to tie the box closed at the top and proceeded to glue on my leaves. This is where you can make it your own whether you want 1, 2 or 3 leaves is your choice. It would even be cute if you added a little name tag there and you could use them as place settings or favors.
